I am in the words of Renee Phillips an " incredible contemporary sumi-e artist who brings her own creative vision to paintings that express poetic simplicity, peace and harmony. Imagine relaxing or meditating in front of them. (She offers originals and prints!) She recently won an Award of Excellence in "The Healing Power of ART 2020" exhibition."

Art for a Good Cause!

Art for a Good Cause!

Valentine's Benefit
20th Anniversary

i have always thought that for me a good way to support charities and organizations that I care about is to donate a piece of my art when asked or even when not asked. It is so important to reach out and support others. I have donated art to Assistance Dogs of Hawaii and their events for almost 20 years. This organization is very dear to me. They do outstanding work pairing people with disabilities with a working dog that will make their life a little bit easier.

My service dog Wesley is from ADH

I have been blessed with three service dogs from ADH over the years. They have been true companions and helpers. Each with their own personality and making my life a whole lot better in many ways.

Mountain Music by Casey Shannon
Award - at 56th Sumi Society of America Exhibition

This year my contribution is a framed and matted fine art reproduction of this award winning piece of art.  Medium is sumi (ink) on shikishi board. My painting will be offered in the auction. You can get a fine art reproduction too. Go to: FAA

Here it is framed.

Hope you like it!

In addition to donating my painting, Wesley and I will be giving a little talk about service dogs. If you are in Maui, you won't want to miss this fabulous event.

Forever Home

Moon Shadows
Sumi-e by Casey Shannon

Image: 14 x 24
Scroll: 16 x 60

Medium: Sumi (ink) and Tea

This scroll was inspired by the beauty of nature and the beautiful mountains of Carmel Valley, CA. USA. The mountains are majestic and surround you with the gentleness of peace.

My scroll was on display in AnShan City, China in the exhibition of ICCPS for 2016. This exhibition was beautiful with over 100 scrolls displayed from sumi artists from around the world. China, Japan, USA, Canada, Holland, Argentina, Australia, France, and Russia.

My scroll recently found it "forever home" in Santa Cruz, CA. USA
Here are a few pictures of it in its new home.

Quick Art Marketing Tip!

Sumi-e Work by Casey Shannon
In it's forever home!
Carmel Valley, CA.

Follow every sale with a handwritten thank-you note. This thank-you note adds a warm, personal touch that will let your clients know you truly appreciate their business. By adding one simple line to your thank-you note, you can encourage feedback from your clients, and get a picture of the artwork you sold them that will be of incredible value to you in your future marketing efforts.

The line to add to your thank-you note is this:

" If you have a moment and would be willing to snap a photograph of the piece, I would love to see it in its new home, and I’d love to share the photo with clients who are considering my work. You can email the photo to me at me@youremailaddress.com

Sumi-e by Casey Shannon
In it's forever home!
Laguna Niguel, CA.

This simple request almost always results in a photo, and often several photos of the piece. Most customers are not only happy to take the photo, they enjoy showing the piece off and love the thought of helping the artist’s career along. Often, the client will also write a little note to accompany the photo, sharing their feelings about the piece. Then you even get a testimonial! Do not allow yourself to get discouraged if your client does not answer you or says they will send a photo but do not. Just go ahead and ask the next client!

Carmel Valley Ranch Magazine

Carmel Valley Ranch Magazine
Carmel Valley, CA

I am very pleased to announce that my sumi-e artwork is being featured in Carmel Valley Ranch Magazine along with a few other very talented local artists from CVAA - Carmel Valley Art Association. We have a two page spread. This is the magazine of Carmel Valley Ranch 2016 and is in all the lodges and inns in Carmel Valley. I am very honored to have my sumi-e work represented here.

Can you see my work?

My sumi-e is in the upper left-hand corner of the magazine. It is titled: "Wabi Sabi - Rising Up" and represents the landscape of my life. This painting is actually a commemorative painting in celebration marking 30 years of my stroke.

You can see more of my sumi-e art on my website.
